I have been knitting away, and actually have a Fo or two, but can't write about them yet ... I should have a very picture laden post and good Knitting chatter following Feb. 18th (the baby shower date of a friend who some of the knitting is for). It sucks to have FOs and no ability to share ... but I would sooner not wreck the surprise, so I am trying hard to not load the pictures anywhere yet.
I haven't had much time to work on anything else lately -- work has been busy, and what knitting time I have had, I have been trying to make sure I devote to Shower Knitting, so I don't end up a few days before the event, frantically staying up until midnight to get things done, and running a fan all night to ensure the present is dry! I tell you -- this time, I am done in advance!
Not much to blog about though ... I suppose I can share some cute pet pictures (as inspired by Marti -- isn't her pupper cute?). This is what I have been seeing over the past week or so:
Looks harmless, but beware of the curly underbelly!
Yes, that is an aquarium under the kitty.
Before our trip, T. moved this old mattress out of the spare room (which we are converting into a craft room for me), and the weather has been too crappy to get it to its new owner ... so someone has become attached!
We recently started making Duffy sleep in a kennel with Bruce at night (she has been sleeping between T. and I for 2 years and it is killing my back and neck - she's a bed hog, so the time has come). She cries a little and resists going in, but once the two of them settle down, they are pretty cute sleeping together. Things like this are what got us thinking we could get a really big kennel and let them sleep together, instead of in 2 smaller crates ... now say it with me --- AWWWW!
I don't know if it is because they are really brother and sister (they have the same parents, but were from separate litters, 2 years apart), or if Bruce sees Duffy as a mother figure, or maybe just because they just really like each other, but my pups are big fans of sharing, and since Elvis has been gone, they don't play "snatch the rawhide" anymore ... they do this.
Can you believe the little puppy we got in August is now almost 8 months old and weighs over 50 lbs.? This is my brute Bruce.

They're all so cute! That's like me with the knitting -- got one FO and working on another that I can't show.
Awwwww......how cute are they? You should have entered these pics in the cute pet contest!
Good luck with your shower knitting! I can't wait to see what everyone has done!
You are really fortunate to have the puppy dogs get along so well. We have two cats, that we got as kittens at the same time so they could be buddies, unfortunately it didn't work out that way.
May I inquire as to whom the shower is for? I can be reached at c_ellis@cogeco.ca.
Thanks!
